Chelsea's weekend defeat to Manchester City has extended the gap between the reigning champions and the Manchester clubs, but Antonio Conte's men threw everything at it.

Kevin De Bruyne's fine second half strike secured a 1-0 victory for Pep Guardiola's men , with Chelsea left chasing shadows as the visitors dominated for large periods.

But the hosts certainly didn't shirk any challenges when it came to chasing those shadows, as the weekend running stats from the Premier League show.

They place two Blues players in the top three for distance covered, although the order of them might surprise.

Because while N'Golo Kante's place in this list isn't a shock, Cesc Fabregas's place at the top of it - having run 12.88 km (just over eight miles), almost a third of a a kilometre more than anyone else - will raise eyebrows.
