Chelsea take on Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night with Antonio Conte expected to ring the changes.

The Blues will be looking to continue their sterling start to the season, after bouncing back from the opening day shock against Burnley.

Conte will likely give chances to the young stars in his extended squad following the battling draw with Arsenal at the weekend.

David Luiz is serving the first match of his suspension following his red card in the latter stages of that match.

But what does Conte have to say about the decision? And what are his thoughts on the Forest game?

Line-up prediction

What do we make of this?

Hazard will start

Just in case you missed what Conte said earlier...

Here’s the boss confirming that Eden Hazard will start tomorrow’s game:

I think for Eden now is the right moment to start the game and try to play the whole game. I hope to be with him at the final step for the injury.

I think we have managed very well his situation and in my career I was injured a lot of times and I have a bit of experience about this situation.

We are managing the situation very well and he is ready to start.

Loan move blocked

Important to remember this...

The Chelsea dream was almost over for Kenedy, but inactivity in the transfer market has seemingly given the Brazilian a reprieve.

Musonda quotes

In case you missed it earlier...

Antonio Conte has been speaking about Charly Musonda this afternoon - and the boss has revealed how the midfielder can break in to the Chelsea first team.

Warburton speaks

Nottingham Forest’s manager has been speaking to the media too...

Appeal latest

Conte was of course asked about David Luiz’s red card at the weekend - and he’s revealed whether the club are planning to appeal or not.

Hazard trolls Jose

Speaking of Hazard, the Chelsea star has been busy trolling former Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

The Belgian attacker has claimed that Antonio Conte only took a week to improve him when he took over as Chelsea manager from Mourinho.

The Portugese boss left the Blues for a second time in December 2015 after a dreadful start to the campaign had seen his side lose nine of their 16 matches. Antonio Conte took over as Chelsea boss from the start of the 2016/17 season and brought the title back to Stamford Bridge in his first campaign in charge of the club.

Hazard has claimed that, not only did the Italian improve his style of play almost instantly, but the manager’s tactical work also means the Blues can almost play with their eyes closed.

“You have to. Even after a week I think I had progressed with him [Conte],” Hazard said (via The Mirror).

Cheeky!

Incident reminder

In case you needed reminding of Kenedy’s incident in China...

The Brazilian was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour due to posts he made on social media which angered many of Chelsea’s Chinese supporters.

The club issued an apology and Kenedy hasn’t been involved for the Blues since - until now.

Kenedy chance

Kenedy will surely be relieved with Antonio Conte’s quotes about him today too.

He hasn’t been involved for Chelsea since the controversy over in China during the club’s pre-season preparations.

However, he WILL be involved in the squad tomorrow - and Conte believes the Brazilian deserves his chance.

Hint comes true

So, it seems that this hint from Charly Musonda and John Terry on Sunday was accurate...

Musonda reaction

It’s fair to say Chelsea fans aren’t agreeing with Conte’s view that Musonda can play at wing-back...

Key points

Wow, that was a seriously interesting press conference!

Here’s the key points from that:

  • Eden Hazard will START
  • Charly Musonda and Kenedy strongly hinted at being involved
  • Musonda could be played as a wing-back in the future.
  • No comment on any rumoured bids for Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid
  • Chelsea will be trying their best in the League Cup

On Nottingham Forest

We are talking about a great club and a great history in England. I remember that in the past Nottingham Forest played also in the Champions League and was once the most important club in England.

We have a great respect for this club. Don’t forget, in the last game they beat Newcastle.

I watched a lot of games and they play good football. We must pay great attention tomorrow.

On keeping players happy

I think after one season we are working together I don’t think it is right to send a message to my players through a press conference.

They know me very well. I think this season could be an opportunity for all players to get a chance.

In our squad we have many young players. It is important to take this chance and show me they can count.

On Musonda's position

In my mind he could play number 10. He could play winger. Also in the future he could play as a wingback

More on Musonda

I’m sure that we are talking about a young player with a really good prospect because Charly, you can see very clearly his talent.

I think now it is very important for him to adapt himself to this league because this league is not simple, it is a physical league.

Now he is working a lot to improve his strength and be ready for a big impact.

I trust Charly. It is important for a coach to trust a player.

On Bakayoko

Baka now has started to play and I think he is playing very well. Don’t forget last season he finished the season with an injury in his knee. Now he is in a good physical condition.

He is starting to adapt himself to our style of football.

More on Pedro

Pedro is trying to recover from the last injury. It is important for him to work because remember when you are injured you cannot work.

Sometimes you lose your physical condition. Nothing serious for him.

On Pedro

This season he is not lucky. He started with a bad injury in the Arsenal game - a friendly game - where he broke a bone in his face. Then he received a knock on his ankle and then his leg. I hope for him and for our team to be more lucky in the future.

On Manchester United

You know very well in England there are six top teams. The Manchester teams are in these six teams. It is normal for United and City to be competitive and fight for the title.

On possible Costa bid

No we never respond to transfer speculation

On the Manchester clubs

The best way to look at ourselves, this is the best way. We need to work together and continue to improve. You know very well the difficulty to win this league. For sure we want to try to fight til the end and I think we are a good team and we want to try to do this in the league, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

Only one team will win but it is important to try your best.

On League Cup

It is one of the four competitions and for this reason we have to try our best.

We are going to play. We know very well in England it is not very easy to face four competitions but we are going to try our best.

Tomorrow is a good opportunity to give a chance to some players who maybe did not play a lot.

For sure, we want to try to win. We want to go to the next round. But it is the same for Nottingham Forest.

Instant effect on Hazard?

Our work is to try and improve every single player. At the tactical aspect and the physical aspect. I think the most important thing for the players is to be open to receive new information.

I think Eden is a top player and he improved a lot. I think he can continue to improve and become one of the best.

On Hazard

I think for Eden now is the right moment to start the game and try to play the whole game. I hope to be with him at the final step for the injury.

I think we have managed very well his situation and in my career I was injured a lot of times and I have a bit of experience about this situation.

We are managing the situation very well and he is ready to start.

On Kenedy

I think he knows very well what happened in China. He made a mistake but I think everyone in life makes mistakes.

But now he is focused and working very well. He understands his mistake and he is ready to play.

On Musonda

I’d like to (laughs) to tell you tomorrow. For sure tomorrow it could be a good opportunity for Charly, for Musonda and for Kenedy it is the same.

On resting players

I think the next game could be a good opportunity to give a chance to some players who didn’t play a lot. It could be a good opportunity
