Charlie Adam insists Stoke do not fear Diego Costa and his Chelsea team-mates and will travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday eyeing all three points.

The Potters have more than held their own in the Premier League and want to add the Blues to scalps that have already including Manchester City and Arsenal this term.

And Scotland midfielder Adam reckons Jose Mourinho’s side are far from invincible.

He said: “It’s going to be a tough game. It’s not just about Costa, they have Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard, Oscar - a lot of good players - and it is a difficult place to go, especially when they are playing with a lot of confidence.

“But hopefully we can go there and cause them problems.

“You can find chinks in the armour. We always make a point before the games of looking for the weaknesses in teams and what we can exploit. Hopefully we can pick out some points.

“I don’t think Costa’s a bully. He’s a top striker, a powerful striker - similar to Didier Drogba when he first came over.

“He holds the ball up really well for them, a strong centre. But Ryan Shawcross knows how to play against him and he’s done well when he’s played against him in the past.

“Hopefully we can get three points at Chelsea.”

Adam knows Blues boss Mourinho is the master of getting results after the league leaders scraped a 3-2 win at Hull last time out.

He added: “Mourinho knows the way. He is a clever manager. He knows how to win games - they showed that against Hull. They get that third goal from 2-2 then they shut up shop.

“That is the difference. He wants to win and he will win ugly if he has to.”
