Chelsea managed to see off Manchester United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and via a familiar route.

The Blues were victorious thanks to Alvaro Morata's brilliant second half header, and although it was the forward's first goal in six appearances, the nature of it should have been foreseen by Jose Mourinho's side.

Because it was the fifth time this season in the Premier League that a Morata goal has been assisted by Blues defender Cesar Azpilicueta, making Azpilicueta assists responsible for the vast majority of Morata's seven league goals.

In what is a good list for full-backs, the only other combination which has been seen more than twice is Tottenham's Kieran Trippier assisting Harry Kane, which has happened four times.

Azpilicueta first assisted a Morata goal in the 2-0 win over Everton in August, and followed that up by providing a goal for him at Leicester two weeks later, when Chelsea won 2-1. He also provided two of his compatriot's three goals at Stoke in September.

As well as Azpilicueta to Morata and Trippier to Kane, there have been 16 other assist goal combinations that have been seen more than once this season.

They include the unlikely unions of Harry Maguire to Shinji Okazaki, Matt Ritchie to Jamaal Lascelles and Sead Kolasinac to Danny Welbeck.
