Chris Sutton revealed on BBC Radio 5 Live that he could have signed for Arsenal in place of Blackburn, but chose 'Alan Shearer over Ian Wright ' instead.

The former Celtic striker moved to the Blue and Whites in 1994 following a superb 28-goal season for Norwich.

The following campaign Sutton scored 15 goals to help guide Blackburn to league glory. But the 44-year-old pundit has now revealed he could have spent his playing days in north London.

Ian Wright added that George Graham spoke to him about signing Sutton.

"I said, 'Yeah I like him'. It was a very exciting time."

Explaining his decision, Sutton said: "Blackburn were building, Kenny was the manager at the time and I had the choice - Arsenal or Blackburn.
