David Moyes is set to take over at West Ham after Slaven Bilic was axed on Monday morning.

The Croat has departed after the crushing home loss to Liverpool , which left the club 17th in the table.

As reported by the Mirror, Moyes is set to be handed a chance to revive his Premier League career at the London Stadium.

The 54-year-old Scot – sacked by Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland - is poised for another crack at the top-flight.

Watford’s Marco Silva and former Manchester City bosses Manuel Pellegrini and Roberto Mancini were sounded out but none wanted to break their contracts in the middle of a season.

Bilic was thought to be on the brink of leaving the London Stadium last month when his side were thrashed by Brighton.

The Carabao Cup win over Tottenham provided some brief respite before they threw away two points at Crystal Palace.

And West Ham were shocking again as they returned to home soil - a defeat which proved the final nail in Bilic's coffin.
