Pep Guardiola has been named Manager of the Month, with Leroy Sane taking the player award to make it an October double for Manchester City.

The Spaniard led his side to wins in all three of their Premier League matches - including the 7-2 success over Stoke City.

Guardiola also won the award in September, after City won four matches, scoring 17 goals, without conceding.

Germany international Sane, 21, was named Player of the Month after bagging three goals and three assists in his three appearances.

City currently lead the Premier League table, having taken 31 points from their opening 11 games, which, allied to their +31 goal difference, is a record-breaking start.

Sane's continued growth has been a big part of City's excellent start to the campaign, and he played every minute of the three matches - despite City's competition for places in the final third.

The former Schalke winger has bagged six goals and five assists in his 675 minutes on the field in the Premier League so far this term.

Southampton winger Sofiane Boufal took the Goal of the Month award, following his magnificent individual effort against West Brom, which handed the Saints a 1-0 win at St Mary's.

The Moroccan international picked up the ball in his own half, proceeding to evade the challenges of five Albion defenders, before rolling the ball into the bottom corner past Ben Foster.
