Alexis Sanchez is raring to go after the international break.

The Arsenal forward took to both Instagram and Twitter to let fans know his head is in the right place following an eventful summer.

The Gunners star had hoped to leave the Emirates in the transfer window, and was the subject of a huge Deadline Day bid from Manchester City.

But Arsenal were unable to bring in Thomas Lemar as a replacement before the window slammed shut, and Sanchez was forced to stay put.

According to his Chile teammate Mauricio Isla, who was with Sanchez at the time, the Gunners forward initially took the news badly.

"Alexis is at a top club like Arsenal but he was very happy to move on to another big club [Manchester City]," said the Fenerbahce man.

"After the news came and he was not able to sign the contract, Alexis felt sad and surely that affected him.

The transfer was very important to him but it did not happen."

Sanchez has now returned to the UK following the international break, and appears to be over his initial disappointment.

"I'm ready for tomorrow," wrote the Chilean on social media, alongside a picture of himself beaming while dressed in his Arsenal training kit.

Arsenal, who kick-started their season with a win over Leicester City, have since endured back to back defeats at the hands of Stoke City and Liverpool.

The club will be hoping to get things back on track at the Emirates on Saturday.
