Jose Mourinho has ruled out a move for Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale.
The Manchester United boss revealed that he would "fight" to sign the Welshman if he believed he was surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.
Ahead of the Super Cup the Portuguese challenged Zinedine Zidane to start Bale in his team for the match at the Philip II Arena in Skopje.
And it seems the Frenchman didn't disappoint, making a clear statement that the Wales international is a big part of his plans at Real Madrid.
His decision to field Bale ahead of star player Cristiano Ronaldo, who made the bench for the 2-1 win, put to bed any suggestion of him signing for the Old Trafford club.
Speaking on BT Sport following the game, Mourinho said: "I think clearly the club wants him, the manager wants him, and he wants the club.
"So for me, game over, even before it started, but game over clearly because I think now everybody knows he is going to stay."
The Europa League winners struggled for long periods in their Super Cup game against their more illustrious counterparts.
Casemiro broke the deadlock for the Champions League winners, slotting home from close range in the first half.
Isco doubled their lead after the break before Romelu Lukaku bagged a consolation.
