Jack Wilshere has been warned he will face the biggest “fight” of his career to win back his Arsenal place.

Italian club Sampdoria are the latest team to look at the Arsenal midfielder who broke his leg at the end of last season after being loaned out to Bournemouth. West Ham are also keen.

That raised question marks over Wilshere’s future because of his fitness and it appears as if Arsenal are ready to let him go as he has only 12 months left on his current deal.

But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists that Wilshere still has a future at the club - but must prove himself again.

“I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes,” said Wenger. “I will give you a very focused answer on that, that he has to work hard to come back and fight for a place in the team.

“But once he is ready, when he comes back, he will not be far from practising with the team.”
