Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was on hand to assist Arsenal star Hector Bellerin in a charity plea, and the Gunners right-back was only too happy for the help.

Spanish international Bellerin was looking for a good cause to donate a large amount of Puma football boots to on Wednesday, and tweeted a picture of several red shoe boxes, presumably full of them, to his 1.18m Twitter followers.

Keen Gooner Corbyn is one of them, and the Labour leader was able to provide Bellerin with the details of a charity he feels will greatly benefit from the star's boots.

Bellerin initially tweeted: "Everyone I need your help!!

"I'm looking for a community cause / charity to donate a load of @ pumafootball boots to (adult & kids sizes). Please send me your suggestions and I'll do my best to go through them and deliver them."

Corbyn quickly replied with: "Hi Hector, @ ReachOutUK is a fantastic charity that uses sport to engage young people in school.

"They work in Manchester, Oldham and London, with a project starting in Islington in January. Feliz Año Nuevo."

Bellerin was delighted with the suggestion, later tweeting: "Thank you Sir! Will contact them right away. Feliz año amigo!

It isn't the first time Corbyn and Bellerin have teamed up, either.

In September, the pair had a laugh at Arsenal fan Piers Morgan's expense when they decided to speak in Spanish at the GQ Awards, thereby ensuring Morgan couldn't understand them .
