Jose Mourinho claims everyone will forget he ever managed Chelsea.

Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge on Sunday as Chelsea’s most successful boss with seven trophies, including three titles, from his two spells in charge.

The Manchester United manager insists his time in charge of the Blues is fast receding into history and that no-one will remember it in another few years.

“I played there with Inter and twice with Manchester United,” said Mourinho.

“I have to admit it is a little bit different going back, but in the end I want to win like I did with Inter.

“The will want to win like they did last season and it’s just one more day.

“And in a couple of years, it will be even more natural and in four or five years probably no-one will remember I was Chelsea manager and it will become absolutely normal, just because I left a couple of years ago.”

Mourinho claims his past with Chelsea does not add spice to the fixture because his time with them is in the past.

Instead he insists it is a significant game because United and Chelsea are fierce rivals in the title race.

“It’s a big match, but not because of that, not at all,” he said.

“It’s a big match because they are champions, it’s a big match because we are Manchester United and no more than that.”
