Jose Mourinho has gone out for a tactic-meeting with his assistants ahead of Manchester United's crunch Europa League clash with Anderlecht.

United boss Mourinho visited Manchester city centre authentic Brazilian restaurant Bem Brasil on Monday night with right hand men Rui Faria and rest of his coaching staff.

The quartet looked deep in discussion as they walked up to the eatery - with the game in Belgium likely to be a hop topic of conversation.

United will definitely be without Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones for the quarter-final first leg.

Mourinho is desperate to win the Europa League to assure his United side of a place in the Champions League last season.

Mourinho could unleash Luke Shaw again after his promising performance against Sunderland at the weekend.

The Portuguese gaffer accused Shaw of not being able to think for himself after he came on as a second-half substitute at Old Trafford, claiming the 21-year left-back played with “his body, but my brain” as he needed to constantly be told what to do by him from the sidelines.

But the left-back appears to have won his gaffer over after Mourinho publicly praised him after his 60 minutes outing.

"Yes, he played well, played solid," Mourinho told Sky Sports. "The opposition was not creating problems, but he was solid, read the game well to go in there when Mkhitaryan was inside.

"It was a good hour for him. I thought about a half-time change but that was too harsh for him. I wanted him to play a little bit more. I took him off because the referee was under a little bit of pressure, so no risk.

"We need him to be available. It was good to protect him, but was also good for him to play one hour with a good solid performance and no mistakes, so I'm really pleased for him."
