Jose Mourinho was asked for his opinion on Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor's super-fight on Saturday, and had a rather amusing response.

Dublin-born McGregor will step into the ring for the first time in his career this weekend and attempt to do something no other man has ever done before in beating the 49-0 boxer from America.

Mourinho has previously been ringside for massive fights, and has even been pictured with unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

During his Manchester United press conference on Friday, the Portuguese claimed he wouldn't be staying up to watch the fight on the weekend, which will take place in Las Vegas, because it's on far too late.

However, he suggested he would have liked to have seen McGregor being allowed to showcase his ability as an all-round fighter, and not just be limited to boxing.

"My dream was that starting in a boxing match and ended in a different way," explained the Red Devils manager while laughing.

"Both of them showing their qualities in a fight, not just in boxing, but that's different obviously.

"Too late. It's too late. It's too. I have to sleep and next morning I will look at it."
