Jurgen Klopp joked Liverpool would have four more points if the Premier League had adopted the video referee system used in Germany, as he looks to ease the pressure on his side ahead of a difficult run of away fixtures.

Klopp insists his side love playing at Anfield, despite draws with Burnley and Sevilla in their last two matches, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Now, starting with back-to-back trips to Leicester in the Carabao Cup and Premier League, they're off on four successive road trips.

It promises to be a testing time, with trips to Moscow and Newcastle to follow before the next home game, which is against Manchester United on October 14.

“I love playing at home, we all do,” Klopp said. “It’s not cool to have four away games in a row.

“(When we play at Anfield) it’s just everybody can feel (the pressure) and it’s for us to deliver. We know that.

“If we had won the game on Saturday 3-0 or 4-0 it would have been outstanding. We had a similar situation to Sevilla – 1-0 down but the reaction from the Kop was outstanding. We equalised in both games.

“I couldn’t feel a lot of frustration around me after the first Champions League game. I am not sure how it was but I couldn’t feel it. Yes, against Burnley people were not too happy but that is normal.

“We cannot do more than give our best and I'm sure this team can make people happy more often than we did so far. I think if you want, you can enjoy watching this football team.”

A smiling Klopp then added: “Yes we have to improve result-wise but I think if the video ref had already been involved in England we would have had two or four more points.

“My former club Dortmund played yesterday and got a goal thanks to the video ref which wasn’t even a goal. Funny! That’s the next level – you don't have to score but you get one from the video ref!

“But seriously, we have to perform, we know this, and we put a lot of pressure on ourselves. We love playing at Anfield.”
