Adam Lallana is struggling to be fit for Liverpool's showdown with Arsenal on Saturday.

Liverpool midfielder Lallana pulled out of the England squad with a groin injury and he has been struggling with illness as well.

Kop boss Brendan Rodgers brokered a deal with England boss Roy Hodgson to allow Raheem Sterling to miss the Italy friendly.

Daniel Sturridge also missed out but Liverpool believe he may be able to play through the pain barrier at Arsenal.

Jordan Henderson has also been carrying a niggle but is expected to be fit after playing both England games with Lithuania and Italy.

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is hopeful of being fit after sustaining a knee injury against Lithuania but Arsene Wenger fears he may miss out.
