Manchester City star Kyle Walker says the Premier League leaders won’t suffer complacency, despite being 11 points clear.

City’s 2-1 win over rivals United at the weekend made it 14 consecutive league wins, and increased their lead at the top of the table.

And England defender Walker, a £50million summer signing from Spurs, says that they won't be taking their foot off the gas.

“We won’t be complacent against Swansea,” said the 27-year-old. “The senior members of the dressing room and the management definitely won’t let us take it light-heartedly.

“We need to keep our foot on the gas, keep going and hopefully that will see us through.

“It’s going to be difficult.

“It is always a tough place to go and they play some good football, but we’re full of confidence off the back of the United result and we need to take that confidence into this game.”

On Wednesday, Pep Guardiola and his side flew the 179 miles to Swansea ahead of their clash in south Wales.

City elected to fly down on Wednesday rather than driving on Tuesday and staying overnight, allowing both a more comfortable journey and Guardiola to spend time on the training ground with his players between fixtures.

Guardiola's side enjoyed a rest day on Monday after their win at Old Trafford, before undertaking a light session after his press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

City are currently riding on the crest of a wave, but will be without captain Vincent Kompany for the clash at the Liberty Stadium.

Kompany was withdrawn at half-time during Sunday's derby win at Manchester United with a muscular injury but the club are hopeful the problem is not serious.

Fellow defenders John Stones (hamstring) and Benjamin Mendy (knee) also remain on the sidelines.

Provisional squad:Ederson, Bravo, Walker, Otamendi, Mangala, Danilo, Delph, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Toure, Gundogan, De Bruyne, D Silva, B Silva, Sane, Sterling, Aguero, Jesus.
