Goals from Antonio Valencia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial handed Manchester United a 4-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford.

The hosts made a fast start when Valencia rifled home a superb first-time strike from outside the area to give his side the lead after just four minutes.

Wayne Rooney came oh-so close to scoring on his Old Trafford return just after the half-time break when latched onto a Tom Davies pass but saw his shot saved by David de Gea.

The former Red Devils skipper was subbed off to a standing ovation with seven minutes remaining before Mkhitaryan slotted home a second moments later.

Lukaku then claimed a goal against his former side in the final minute before substitute Anthony Martial netted an injury-time penalty to seal the deal.
