Jose Mourinho was keen to add more quality to his squad this summer - and got exactly what he asked for.
In completing a deal for Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United completed the most expensive Premier League deal of summer 2017.
The Belgian international joined from Everton in a deal worth £75million.
He wasn't to be the only arrival, however, with Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof completing their moves to Old Trafford for combined £71million.
And there was the small matter of securing Zlatan Ibrahimovic's return to the team for the second half of the season.
There were a few outgoings from the squad, as former captain Wayne Rooney returned to Everton, his boyhood club.
Adnan Januzaj, who had previously shown great potential during the David Moyes era, has been moved on to Real Sociedad, while plenty of loan deals have also been completed.
