Mauricio Pochettino has revealed what Danny Rose said to him when he realised he hadn't been featured in the club's brand new calendar, as he cooled speculation the left-back would be leaving.

The Tottenham defender wasn't featured alongside the rest of the squad in the club's calendar for 2018, as the Sun reported that Man United are preparing a £50million New Year bid for his services.

It was suggested that the snub proved Rose wasn't in Spurs' long-term plans, despite other first-time players including Erik Lamela and Ben Davies also missing.

The Tottenham defender is yet to play for the north London outfit this season after injury, but returned to training this week.

However, his future has been in question since Rose's interview criticising the club's transfer policy, while Mourinho wants a left-back regular, having failed to settle on any of a number of options.

Rose has spent 10 years at Tottenham, and recently intimated he would like to play closer to his Yorkshire home at some point.

Speaking to the press ahead of Tottenham's Premier League clash with Bournemouth, Pochettino revealed the conversation he had with Rose when he realised he wasn't in the new calendar.

"He came to see me and said: 'Gaffer, why? Why am I not in the calendar?' But it's not a big issue, he was doing rehab when we took the pictures and we will rectify it," said the Tottenham boss.
