Mesut Ozil has sent out a warning to his Arsenal teammates ahead of the visit of Bournemouth.

The Gunners have endured a disappointing start to the season, losing two of their first three matches.

They were thrashed at Liverpool before the international break with Ozil among those coming in for criticism.

A chaotic deadline day saw Alexis Sanchez stay at the Emirates and Ozil now hopes focus can be on-field matters.

Following Friday's training session, he tweeted: "A must-win tomorrow. Nothing more to say."

After criticism of Ozil and his teammates, Arsene Wenger hit back at a number of former players, who have become pundits since retiring.

Former Gunners Ian Wright, Thierry Henry, Lee Dixon, Paul Merson and Martin Keown have all launched stinging attacks on players and performances.

Wenger said: “I always have problems understanding what a legend is and isn’t. I’ve had all the players here, but they all had their weaknesses as well.

“They had their weak games as well, and their weak behaviours as well. Nobody was perfect.

"We have to take a distance with that as well, focus on our performance and not be dragged into any animosity.

“We are all grateful for what they have done for the club, but what matters is always the players on the pitch who can defend the pride of the club.”
