Mesut Ozil's agent has revealed his client wants to play in the Premier League for at least another two seasons.

Dr Erkut Sogut confirmed that talks between Arsenal and the player are ongoing, and claimed that as things stand negotiations are "going well".

The German intentional has yet to sign a contract extension in north London with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is fearful of losing the 28-year-old on a free transfer and appears prepared to let him go for money in January.

Inter Milan and Manchester United are two clubs keen on signing the former Real Madrid star, however his £350,000-a-week wage demands are a stumbling block.

Speaking to Turkish outlet Fanatik about his client's situation, Sogut said: "Ozil wants to play another two-three years in the Premier League.

"Talks with Arsenal are ongoing regarding a new deal, what I can say right now is that negotiations are going well."

Former Germany international Karl-Heinz Riedle recently spoke out about his fellow countryman's predicament and offered some advice.

The ex-Liverpool and Fulham striker told Omnisport: "Ozil going back to Germany? Who knows. There's a rumour that he goes to Manchester United. He shouldn't do it.

"Ozil is a quality player. If you see his skills, it's just amazing what he can do on the pitch. We would be very happy if he comes back to a club in Germany, for sure. But I'm not his agent so I don't know where he ends up.

"Best option is if he would, from my point, come to the Bundesliga. It's a really good option because we get another national player back in our league.

"But if he is looking only for the money, then it would be very difficult to find the same kind of money in the German league than he can find in the Premier League."
