Arsenal were boosted by the hire of former Borussia Dortmund scout Sven Mislintat and he has already identified his first target for Arsene Wenger.

Mainz defender Abdou Diallo is on the Gunners' radar, claim RMC Sport, with the 21-year-old now seen as his No.1 target.

Wenger will be able to welcome Diallo into his first team as competition at the back with Arsenal already making contact with the Bundesliga club.

The former Monaco starlet has thrived in German football and Mainz can expect to make a tidy profit on the €6m they invested in the France Under-21 captain.
