Julian Draxler insists he is ‘focused’ despite widespread reports that he could be set to leave Paris Saint Germain.

The German star may find himself surplus to requirements following the record breaking arrival of Neymar from Barcelona and if they land Monaco's teen sensation Kylian Mbappe.

But Draxler seems intent on carrying on as normal judging by his latest social media activity.

The 23-year-old took to Instagram today to post a picture of himself working out in his PSG training gear.

The German international accompanied it with the statement: “New season, more focus #ambition.”

The German’s agent, Roger Witterman, told Bild earlier this week that Draxler would be staying put, declaring: "Draxler will stay and will not be sold this summer.

"Paris is building a group with the best players in the world at every post, and Julian is one of them and he wants to continue to be part of it.”

Arsenal - who have been linked with Draxler in the past - have immediately been mentioned as a possible destination, as have Liverpool.

Arsenal are listed at second favourites for Draxler at 9/1, ahead of Manchester United (16/1) and Chelsea (22/1).

But Liverpool are favourites to bag the forward, with Jurgen Klopp’s chances of linking up with his countryman at Anfield rated as short as 6/4.

Draxler has failed to feature for PSG so far this season after being handed an extended break following his involvement in Germany’s Confederations Cup win.

However, the German will likely find himself far down the pecking order when he does return.

Neymar, Angel di Maria, Javier Pastore and Lucas Moure all appear to figure in Unai Emery’s first-team thinking - and that’s before PSG prepare to complete a move for Mbappe.

German reports suggest both Inter Milan and Barcelona are interested in a move for Draxler, with PSG minded to allow the player to leave to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
