Rio Ferdinand has revealed he would rather play for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola than Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho - because he would 'enjoy' it more.

Ferdinand was asked the question on BT Sport's the Clare Balding show and was initially split between both answers at first.

But despite boasting a 12-season career at Old Trafford, winning six Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy, Ferdinand backed the City boss.

"As a defender, Jose, because I'd get well protected," said Ferdinand.

"But if I was going there to commentate on my attacking players in front of me like I used to, Pep."

But when pushed for answer, Ferdinand added: "For enjoyment I'm going to go for Pep."

Rio Ferdinand was speaking on the new series of the Clare Balding show. You can watch the full interview live on BT Sport 2 tonight from 8pm.
