Ryan Giggs has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant manager's job at Swansea.

The Swans axed boss Paul Clement on Wednesday with the club rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.

They had hoped to have a new boss in place for this weekend's relegation showdown with Crystal Palace but Leon Britton will take caretaker charge.

Manchester United legend Giggs was in line to replace Francisco Guidolin last season before Swansea opted for Bob Bradley.

Giggs claimed the club didn't match his ambitions and despite being on the lookout for his first job, he insists it won't be at the Liberty Stadium.

"No, "I've already spoken to them before, last time before they appointed Bob Bradley," Giggs said after asking if he would be interested.

"Over the years, it has been a well run club but it is tough now and it gets tougher every year.

"They lost good players in the summer, Sigurdsson and Llorente, and haven't replaced them.

"That is the problem."

Swansea have Louis van Gaal and Slaven Bilic on their wishlist as they eye a quick appointment.

Van Gaal, 66, revealed at the weekend that he could be tempted back into management as he feels he has unfinished business following his acrimonious departure from Old Trafford in 2016.

The challenge for Swansea will be persuading him to take over a team sitting last in the table.

Ronald Koeman is not interested in the vacancy while Leon Britton, who has taken temporary charge, has also ruled himself out.
