Wayne Rooney was trolled on Twitter as Everton wore shirts with their new Angry Birds sponsor for the first time against Man United - as you knew he would.

Now, In case you don't know what Angry Birds is, it involves flinging birds at pigs - who are inexplicably always loitering around flimsy scenery.

There are now 16 versions of the game, along with an Angry Birds movie.

And now they sponsor Everton - who will wear the logo on their sleeves after agreeing a multi-year partnership.

In the announcement statement, Everton's Head of Commercial Alan McTavish came up with one of the quote: “The lead character in the Angry Birds universe is known as Red - and it is great to know he is now a Blue."

You just knew that the jokes would continue from there, with some aimed at Rooney, for obvious reasons.
