Wayne Rooney's goal from his own half against West Ham has won the Premier League's Goal of the Month award for November.

The Everton forward scored a hat-trick against David Moyes' Hammers as the Blues beat their former manager's side 4-0 , but his third was the pick of the bunch.

After goalkeeper Joe Hart had raced from his goal and scuffed an attempted clearance. Everton skipper Rooney returned the ball with interest as he drove a stunning effort over his former England teammate and into the net at the Gwladys Street end.

"It’s one of - if not the best - goal I've ever scored," he told Everton's official website after the goal. "I think I hit it as well as I've ever kicked a football!"

Rooney has been in fine form this season, and followed up that hat-trick against the Hammers with an equaliser from the penalty spot against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, and the solitary goal in a 1-0 win at Newcastle.

Rooney retired from England duty after rejoining boyhood club Everton from Manchester United in the summer, but his current goalscoring conversion rate is better than any other forward in Europe's top five leagues.
