Jack Wilshere played a vital part in Arsenal's 3-2 win over Crystal Palace on Thursday evening as the Gunners returned to winning ways following their draw with Liverpool.
Alexis Sanchez put in a man of the match display over the course of the 90 minutes, netting twice to ensure Arsenal returned to north London with all three points.
Shkodran Mustafi scored the Gunners' other goal in the first half, breaking the deadlock in the game and setting his side on their way to victory.
But it was neither of these two players who caught the eye - or the hearts - of the Arsenal fans during and after the fixture.
Instead it was Wilshere who was the name being sung from the terraces at Selhurst Park, and not just because of his magical assist for Arsenal's third.
The 25-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his career, and failed to set the world alight on loan at Bournemouth last season.
He returned to Arsenal at the start of this campaign after suffering yet another injury, and it appeared to everyone that his career at the top was in jeopardy.
Adding to this was the fact that his contract expires in the summer - an issue that is still the case - and Arsene Wenger was coy on whether he would renew it.
But Wilshere has battled back to close to his best in recent weeks, and played a full 90 minutes in the victory over Palace.
He was arguably the club's best player, and as aforementioned, proved he has not lost any of his creative brilliance by picking out Sanchez to score with an astonishing long-range pass.
Gunners supporters who travelled to Selhurst Park praised the midfielder throughout the game, particularly after his assist.
While fans watching the action at home also showed their appreciation on social media, and called for the club to offer him a brand new contract.
