Ian Wright has slammed the FA's decision not hit Romelu Lukaku with a retrospective ban for kicking out at Brighton defender Gaeten Bong.

The incident occurred in Manchester United's 1-0 win over the Premier League new-boys on Saturday, when the scores were level.

Lukaku, who has scored just once in 10 games, appeared to let his frustration get the better of him during the match, and lashed out at Bong twice.

Manchester United feared Lukaku would be hit with a three-match ban once the FA reviewed footage from the game on Monday.

But it was decided the Belgium international would not face any retrospective punishment, meaning he is eligible to face Watford on Tuesday.

Wright discussed the issue on BBC Radio 5 Live, where he said the FA had made the wrong decision in failing to punish Lukaku.

"If they look back at it, how can they not see it is not right what he is done? Should he be done? Yes," said Wright.

"As soon as I saw it, I thought they will probably look at it. You think, why has he got away with it?"

"He has kicked out at him. He has had two digs at him. "Whoever is sitting in here making that decision - why haven't they pulled him up on it?"
