Manchester City have made a second bid for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez this afternoon.

City say the offer is undisclosed, but it is believed to be worth around £55million.

City are waiting for a response from Arsenal as they bid to close the deal for the Chile star.

Arsenal have already knocked back a £50million offer from City for the South American and are adamant the wantaway forward will only leave on their terms.

The Gunners want around £70million and are keen to land Julian Draxler as a replacement before they sanction his departure.

City are prepared to go the wire to land Sanchez and have instructed a team of lawyers to represent them in Santiago, where the forward is in international duty with Chile.

Germany manager Joachim Low, who made Draxler the fulcrum of his midfield at the Confederations Cup and was rewarded with the ex-Schalke and Wolfburg man being named player of the tournament, says the playmaker is not someone PSG are looking to trade.

“I know for a fact that Paris don’t want to sell him,” Low said. “They are convinced of his outstanding qualities.

“He made such a big step forward there. I am convinced that he will come out on top at Paris. By now, he’s already playing a big role for us.”

City have also agreed a £170,000 deal to sell youngster Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund to keep him out of the clutches of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham.
