Here are all the latest Gunners stories from today's Daily Mirror...

Wenger has no regrets over not signing Hazard

Arsene Wenger last night claimed he had no regrets about missing out on signing Eden Hazard.

The Belgium star is hot favourite to be crowned PFA Player of the Year tomorrow and Arsenal were close to getting him before his £32million move to Chelsea in 2012.

The Stamford Bridge star is one of a long list of near misses for Wenger who also came close to landing Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at various stages of their careers.

Wenger even had Hazard’s agent at his house before the Belgian went to Chelsea but the Gunners manager says he does not reproach himself over not getting the deal done.

He said: “I have no big regrets because – at the time – there was so much money involved we could not afford it and not defend it, honestly.

“It was not feasible for us financially."

Gibbs: We've learned how to win ugly

Kieran Gibbs has claimed Arsenal are finally ready to beat Jose Mourinho after learning to ditch their footballing principles.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has never beaten arch rival Mourinho in their 12 Premier League meetings but is determined to make it 13th time lucky at the Emirates on Sunday.

They have come unstuck in the past because Arsenal’s pretty football has been second best to Mourinho’s win at all costs philosophy but Gibbs says they owe their manager a big result.

Gibbs says their eight game winning run is down to them learning how to win ugly and believes it will make them serious contenders next season while they also want to chase down Chelsea.

Arsenal full back Gibbs said: “You start to see a team which is picking up momentum even when we’re not playing at our best. The form we’re in has been the best for a long time so if there was ever a time it would be now.

“Even last weekend in the FA Cup semi final, we didn’t perform how we would want to. But in the past, we haven’t got the result and performed well, people have asked questions of us.

“I think that’s something that’s definitely changed in the team. If we do that this weekend then it does start to put a different label above our heads of who we are."

Mourinho takes swipe at Wenger

Jose Mourinho last night took another sideswipe at bitter rival Arsene Wenger ahead of their showdown at the Emirates.

Mourinho was infuriated by Wenger's remark that it is "easy to defend" as two very different footballing philosophies collide on Sunday.

Chelsea boss Mourinho, who has never lost to Wenger in 12 meetings, could not resist biting back with a dig over Arsenal’s Champions League exit to Monaco.

“It’s not easy, not easy. If it was easy, you wouldn’t lose 3-1 at home to Monaco,” said Mourinho. “If he defends well he draws 0-0 against Monaco and wins in Monte Carlo. It’s not easy to defend.”

There is no love lost between Mourinho and Wenger as Chelsea’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday is as much about a clash of managerial personalities as it is a London derby.

It is not just Wenger’s appalling record on the pitch against Mourinho. But also Mourinho’s incredible hold over Wenger after branding him a “specialist in failure” last season. That only reopened wounds from ten years ago when Mourinho called Wenger a “voyeur.”

Such was Wenger’s anger at Mourinho when they met at Stamford Bridge this season that the normally mild mannered Frenchman snapped and pushed his managerial rival on the touchline.

Cup final kit decided

Arsenal will wear their yellow and blue away kit during next month's FA Cup final.

Tim Sherwood and Aston Villa won the toss, which gave them the authority to pick the club colours in the event of a kit clash - which is presented for this meeting.

But wearing the yellow away kit does in fact present good omens for the Gunners, who have won the world's oldest trophy on three occasions previously while wearing the alternative kit.

Arsenal were wearing yellow during their 1950, 1971 and 1979 cup final wins, but have lost finals in the colour on two separate occasions.

In the 1950 and 1971 finals, Arsenal saw off Liverpool, while they defeated Manchester United in a five-goal thriller at Wembley for the 1979 finals.

Ray Parlour has instructed Arsene Wenger to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, the London Evening Standard reports.

“Whether Chelsea would let him go to one of their rivals is the burning question, but if Cech was available for the money reported — about £10million — it is a no-brainer. He would be first on my shopping list," said Parlour.

“It is nothing against Ospina but when you look at the games Cech has played in and the trophies he has won, he’d be a great addition for Arsenal.

"If you are going to challenge for the league, you need a top quality goalkeeper which Cech is.”

Arsenal will face competition from Real Madrid in their bid to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to the Daily Star.

The Frenchman launched himself onto the Gunners' radar with a stunning performance in Monaco's 3-1 win at the Emirates in February.

Kondogbia has a year of La Liga experience to his name having spent the 2012-13 season with Sevilla.

The 22-year-old has made 26 appearances for Monaco this season.
