Arsenal are plotting a move for Barcelona midfielder Rafinha - should they fail to hold on to Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

That is according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Gunners could look towards the Catalans' playmaker next summer.

Rafinha would be more of a like-for-like replacement for Ozil than Sanchez, but would command a hefty transfer fee.

Ozil and Sanchez are both out of contract at the Emirates next summer and are yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms in north London.

Emmanuel Petit slams Arsene Wenger's tactics against Man City - 'Arsenal are a danger to themselves'

Emmanuel Petit has claimed Arsenal “are a danger to themselves” because of Arsene Wenger’s tactics.

Arsenal legend Petit, who won the Double in 1998 under Wenger, claimed the Gunners boss got it badly wrong at Manchester City and the balance of the team is all wrong.

Petit, in an interview with Paddy Power, said: “At the moment, every time Arsenal have the ball, they are a danger to themselves, because as soon as they lose it, they look disorganised. There is no balance in this team – they lack concentration.

“The fault for this lies not just with the manager, but also with the players. They’ve been making simple mistakes and consequently allowing the opposition an easy ride.

Alan Shearer tells Arsene Wenger to apologise to Raheem Sterling

Arsene Wenger should apologise to Raheem Sterling for accusing him of diving in Manchester City's 3-1 win over Arsenal.

That's according to Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer, who criticised the Gunners boss following the Sunday afternoon fixture.

Sterling won a penalty for his side after he was bundled over by a clumsy Nacho Monreal challenge shortly after the break.

Sergio Aguero converted the subsequent spot-kick to double the Citizens' lead and set them on their way for a tenth win in 11 Premier League games this season.

Speaking after the match, an animated Wenger hit out at the England winger, telling BBC Sport: "I believe it was no penalty. We know that Sterling dives well, he does that very well."

Shearer responded to the comment while providing analysis on Match of the Day 2, saying Wenger should apologise for making the remark.
