Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Napoli centre-back Nikola Maksimovic ahead of a potential January bid.

Football Italia claim that the Gunners were scouting the Serbian during the international break, but would face competition from Inter Milan for his signature.

Maksimovic joined Napoli last summer in a €25million move from Torino, but has failed to live up to expectations and has only made two appearances for his club this season.

The 25-year-old is under contact at the Stadio San Paolo until June 2021.

Alexis Sanchez would be welcomed at Paris Saint-Germain, claims Dani Alves, after the Arsenal star failed to inspire Chile to the 2018 World Cup.

La Roja's talisman met Alves and Brazil on Tuesday night, with the Selecao securing a 3-0 victory that ensured the Copa America champions failed to finish inside CONMEBOL's top five.

Sanchez has been linked with a move to PSG as his contract winds down and Alves, who joined this summer from Juventus, would welcome the Gunners star in a future move.

“It’s a possibility [he could join PSG]. He’s courted by many teams," Alves said.

Sead Kolasinac only managed 45 minutes for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which would have had Arsene Wenger fearing the worst.

Saturday's trip to Watford now presents a dilemma without the Germany centre-back but there is better news surrounding Kolasinac's condition, report football.london.

However, despite concerns over the summer signing, it may not be all that bad for Wenger and the team.
