Arsenal have reportedly bid £50million for Thomas Lemar.

The Gunners are determined to land the Monaco midfielder this summer and have already had two bids rebuffed.

And according to the Daily Mail , Arsenal have submitted their third offer for the 21-year-old.

Monaco have insisted that Lemar is not for sale after already losing some of the biggest names in their Ligue 1 squad from last season.

Arsenal reportedly believe that if a bid is accepted for Lemar, personal terms will be be passed with ease.

Gunners legend David Seaman said: "I would do whatever it takes to hold on to him because he’s a quality player who you wouldn’t want to be leaving the club, especially to your rivals.

"Sanchez-type players are the ones Arsenal should be bringing in. To replace him, It’d be hard. What are they going to get for him?

He’s got a year left on his contract, his price-tag, I’d guess, would be around £50-70 million – you can’t guarantee spending that money and getting a player as good as Sanchez."

Arsenal have re-signed Wellington Silva from Fluminense but their gamble to sell him on to Bordeaux has backfired after the winger failed a medical with the French club.

Silva endured a frustrating spell with the north London club and failed to make a senior appearance after issues surrounding a work permit delayed his progress into the first-team and he was shipped out loan, including a spell at Championship side Bolton.

The Gunners inserted a buy-back clause for £1.5million when he joined Fluminense back in July 2016 and triggered the option when they became aware of Bordeaux's interest.

Arsenal were on course to make a quick profit as the Ligue 1 side were willing to pay £3m, but he failed his medical and will now head back to Brazil.
