Mauro Icardi is set to put pen to paper on a new deal at Inter Milan.

Arsenal were linked with a move away for the 23-year-old this summer, but it appears that he has resolved his issues with his club.

Icardi was alongside names such as Alexandre Lacazette and Arsene Wenger could have reignited his interest in January.

Speaking after Inter defeated Pescara 2-1, in which he scored twice, Icardi said: “I talked with the club and we have fixed everything."

Arsene Wenger is yet to decide whether Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi will play in the Champions League this week.

The manager handed both men their Gunners debuts over the weekend.

Wenger told Arsenal’s website : “I have to decide that [if the new signings will be involved against PSG].

“We will see how everyone is tomorrow morning. For Tuesday, we might just have Gibbs coming back, who was not in the squad today. It’s possible they are in the squad.”

Laurent Koscielny is a major fitness doubt for Arsenal’s Champions League trip to Paris Saint-Germain, writes Mirror Football's John Cross.

Arsenal defender Koscielny suffered a horrific looking facial wound after a clash with Southampton defender Jose Fonte.

It left Koscielny with a badly swollen eye and Arsene Wenger admits that is a concern with rookie defender Rob Holding now on standby to face the French champions on Tuesday.

Gunners boss Wenger said: “He will be a little bit of a concern. The eye is already very swollen and it is closed up.”

Shkodran Mustafi believes the famous German never-say-die spirit is running through the Arsenal dressing room, writes Mirror Football's John Cross.

Maybe that is why the Gunners kept going until the bitter end against Southampton on Saturday , where — typically — the winner had to come from a highly controversial penalty which Santi Cazorla fired home.

“I’m a German. We are known for staying in the game until the end and that’s what gave us the three points,” smiled Mustafi, who was a member of Joachim Low's 2014 World Cup-winning squad, after his Arsenal debut.

“[At least] That’s what people tell me all the time at every club when I live in different countries — so I’ve brought it up before someone else does!

“it’s important to stay in the game until the last second — until the referee blows the whistle.

“We had opportunities before that to score, but that’s football. You create chances, but the most important thing is to believe and we believed until the end and that’s what gave us the points.”

Perez and Mustafi taken aback by Prem speed

Arsene Wenger has admitted new signings Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi were taken aback by the break-neck speed of their Premier League debuts, writes Mirror Football's Hamish Mackay.

The £50million duo got their first taste of English football in the 2-1 win over Southampton, though neither shone at the Emirates.

And when asked about the performances of Arsenal's latest additions, Wenger felt the pace of the Premier League may have shocked the imports from La Liga.

"I feel both are short [of fitness] a bit," said Wenger. "They lack competition and their second half was much better than their first half.

"They were a bit surprised by the pace and the commitment of the Premier League [but] they will adapt to that. As well, they were a bit on their nerves in the first half. In the second it was much better."

Olivier Giroud has warned his Arsenal team-mates Edison Cavani will be Paris Saint-Germain's danger man in their Champions League clash on Tuesday, writes Mirror Football's Neil McLeman.

The Uruguayan leads the line for the French champions since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And the France striker said: “Cavani is a player who can make the difference. If he has a big night, he can hurt us.

"I have already scored a few goals at the Parc des Princes [for Montpellier]. If I can make the difference, I won't stop myself.”

PSG have struggled this season without Ibrahimovic and now David Luiz. Friday night's home draw with St Etienne means they have won only two of their four Ligue 1 matches under new coach Unai Emery.

“The Champions League is a completely different competition and they will know how to get themselves together,” Giroud told French TV.

“Paris are the favourites in this group. They will be ready. Let's make them doubt themselves. We are expecting tough opposition when we get there.”
