Chelsea are considering a late move for long-time Manchester United target Ivan Perisic as part of their end-of-window spree.

United are set to reignite interest in the £48million-rated star but Conte knows all about the 28-year-old winger who scored against his side in pre-season in Singapore.

The champions are already in negotiations for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, Valencia right-back Joao Cancelo and Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater.

They also retain an interest in Everton’s Ross Barkley and Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as they bid to strengthen their squad for their title defence and their Champions League campaign.

Former Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo claimed at the weekend that Perisic could end up at Stamford Bridge instead of Old Trafford.

Crespo said: “It’s possible he joins Chelsea – but he plays on the left and on the left you have Eden Hazard, Perisic and Marcos Alonso.

“Maybe he could come in through the middle or to the right.

“If you put a lot of money down, even Inter will sell him, but they don’t want to sell him.”
