Jose Mourinho AND Radamel Falcao are on their way to Chelsea, according to a report in Germany.

Newspaper Bild, which broke the news of Mario Gotze's move from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich, has followed up with a story that will warm the cockles of every Blues fan's heart - if it proves true.

The piece claims that Real Madrid boss Mourinho, who made Chelsea champions in his first spell in charge at the Stamford Bridge club, is "almost certain" to return to his west London throne.

Real's 4-1 loss to Dortmund in Germany in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday will presumably do little to slow down the exit of a man who is said to have fallen out with key players at the Bernabeu.

It has been felt for months that this was likely to be the final season at Real for the Portuguese, who has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.

Colombia striker Falcao has been on the Chelsea radar for even longer, and Bild's report calls him a €60million (£51.7m) "special welcome gift" to Mourinho from Blues' owner Roman Abramovich.

The news broke within hours of Fernando Torres, a largely disappointing £50m Abramovich buy from Liverpool two years ago, bullishly backing himself to succeed even if Chelsea bought Falcao this summer.

Spain international striker Torres said: "When you play for Chelsea, you're always hoping big players come and the big names are always being linked with the club.

"You cannot stop that - especially when the summer comes. Every player is welcome at Chelsea, every top player.

"Since I came to Chelsea, only top players have come, so it would not be a surprise if we signed Falcao."
