Chelsea have reportedly been boosted in their pursuit of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.

The Blues were unable to land the defender in the summer, when Juve refused to budge on their £80million asking price, but according to the Telegraph , the 26-year-old wants to quit the club.

That means he may now be available for around £50million, which would alert the Premier League champions, possibly in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Blues are lacking depth at left-back with Marcos Alonso playing the lion's share of minutes this season.

Chelsea made it through to the knockout stages of the Champions League on Tuesday evening, but their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid means they go into Monday's draw as group runners-up.
