Danny Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request in a bid to force through a move to Chelsea.
Leicester's England midfielder, 27, is understood to have told friends he is worried about missing out on the dream switch because the Foxes are demanding £40million for his services.
Chelsea have yet to match that valuation, so far offering just over £30million, including bonuses, after an initial £15million bid was dismissed out of hand.
As reported by Mirror Football, Drinkwater has been aware of Chelsea's interest for some time and is desperate for the transfer to take place.
It would represent a return to the Champions League for him and enhance his England prospects.
He is now concerned, however, that the stand-off could end with the current Champions looking at other targets and wants to force his club's hand.
