Arsenal keeper David Ospina is being offered a January escape route to safeguard his World Cup place.

Ospina is frustrated at Arsenal and is concerned his lack of first team action could mean he loses his status as Colombia’s No1 for next summer.

His former club Atletico Nacional are interested in the Arsenal keeper who has never overcome Petr Cech in the battle to be first choice at the Emirates.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has persuaded Ospina to stay in the past with the promise of games in Europe and the cup competitions.

But Ospina made errors in Colombia’s World Cup qualifiers and the fear is that if they are seen as being a result of a lack of first team games then he may be tempted to go.

Wenger has always rated Ospina highly but will be faced with a dilemma if the Colombian keeper does push to go.

Atletico Nacional may be looking for a new keeper with their current keeper Franco Armani a target for River Plate.
