Sam Allardyce wants to offer Theo Walcott an escape route from Arsenal .

And the new Everton boss is hoping to tie up a double deal by also winning the race for Steven N’Zonzi in January.

Walcott, who has 18 months left on his £140,000-per-week deal, has fallen down the Arsenal pecking order, not started a single league game this season and only featured off the bench in three Premier League fixtures.

Allardyce, who will be given significant funds next month to build on his impressive start as boss, is keen to exploit the situation and hand Walcott a fresh start at Goodison Park.

Walcott, 28, would offer Everton the pace and goal threat they have been missing since losing Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United last summer.

And they have firmed up their interest by enquiring about Walcott’s availability.

Allardyce is also confident of clinching a reunion with N’Zonzi.

But he will have to fend off interest from West Ham and Arsenal to sign the midfielder from Sevilla.

Everton believe they are in pole position to win the race to sign N’Zonzi, 29, on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move next summer.

The former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder, who Allardyce signed when he was in charge at Ewood Park, is available after falling out with Sevilla coach Eduardo Berizzo.

West Ham are hoping to hijack Everton’s move for the two-times capped France international and hope to hold talks with him this week.

Meanwhile Arsenal are also understood to be monitoring the N’Zonzi situation.
