Jose Mourinho has reportedly urged Manchester United bosses to launch a £100m bid for Gareth Bale.

The United boss appeared to end his side's chances of landing Bale after Tuesday night's Super Cup, stating it was "game over".

But the Sun reports Mourinho privately feels an agreement can be reached with the Welshman.

He believes a blockbuster contract can lure Bale back to the Premier League.

Ibrahimovic steps up comeback

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is stepping up his return from the devastating knee injury which brought his campaign to a premature end at Manchester United last season.

The Swede took to Instagram on Thursday to post a video showing off his progress alongside the caption "no time to rest" as he looks to prove his fitness to any potential suitors.

The former Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG man turns 36 in October and is currently without a club after Manchester United declined to pick up the optional second year of his deal.

But rather than hanging up his boot, Ibrahimovic is determined to play on, with reports suggesting that the Red Devils would be willing to sign him up on a short-term deal once he returns to fitness.

Manchester United have loaned Timothy Fosu-Mensah to Crystal Palace for the 2017-18 season.

The 19-year-old made his senior Red Devils debut under Louis van Gaal in February 2016 and has gone on to make 21 first-team appearances for the club.

Fosu-Mensah operates primarily as a right-back but has also filled in at centre-back and central midfield.

He will be working under countryman Frank de Boer at Selhurst, who was in charge of the Ajax youth team between 2007 and 2010 when Fosu-Mensah was at the club before he joined United 2014.
