Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly ready to trigger Sergi Roberto's release clause at Barcelona.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer with his release clause standing at €40million (£36million).

SPORT reports he has received offers from the two Premier League clubs.

While Jose Mourinho is interested, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly personally pushed for the player as he bids to strengthen his squad.

Juventus also appear to have entered the race for the player.

It is suggested Roberto currently favours staying at Barca but that situation could change in the opening weeks of the season.

Barca held talks with the player's agent this week and outlined their intention to renew Roberto's deal, removing the release clause.

The Spaniard spent most of last term at right-back but boss Ernesto Valverde has prioritised new signing Nelson Semedo in pre-season, with Roberto's outings coming in midfield.

But he remains behind Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic in the pecking order and may find his opportunities limited.

Barca are also expected to make an improved bid for Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele, after having an initial bid rejected by the German club.
