Manchester United failed to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer with Atletico Madrid's transfer ban proving a sticking point.

But Jose Mourinho could reignite that interest in 2018 with Sky Sports and AS journalist Guillem Balague claiming Griezmann was "determined" to move to United.

He also reveals that next summer could be the right time without the burden of feeling like he would have let the Spanish side down due to their inability to find a replacement.

The Red Devils are long-term admirers of the France international and will surely be encouraged by the player's previous will to head to Old Trafford.

Marcos Rojo trained with Manchester United on Tuesday as he continues his recovery from knee ligament damage, while two other first-team players also gave manager Jose Mourinho a boost.

Argentina defender Rojo suffered the injury in April but travelled with United on their pre-season tour of America and also went with the squad to Skopje for the Super Cup with Real Madrid.

Mourinho said last month that Rojo "has no chance before December" and that may remain the case, but United made a point of showcasing his presence at training.

The Premier League leaders shared a Twitter gallery of pictures with the caption "back at it on the training pitch" and then followed it up with "who do we have here?" along with images of Rojo.

Victor Lindelof has endured a tough start to life in the Premier League with Manchester United after being omitted from both match day squads by Jose Mourinho.

Lindelof will need to be patient in his first season at Old Trafford with Jose Mourinho dampening expectations of the Swede.

"I think Real Madrid was too early for him,” Mourinho said. “He played because Jones and Bailly were both suspended.
