West Ham co-owner David Gold has insisted Diafra Sakho is not for sale despite the Senegal striker had a medical at Rennes.

Crystal Palace have also been linked with a move for Sakho who made only four appearances last season.

But Gold tweeted: “Diafra Sakho is not for sale in this transfer window he is an integral part of our first team squad and will play a part in our recovery.”

Hammers' co-owner David Sullivan's two sons - Jack and David Jnr - have both also tweeted to say no deal.

Sakho wasn't in the starting XI for the Newcastle United defeat, with Michail Antonio and Andre Ayew being preferred instead.

Football.London claims he took the news badly and told the club he was going back to France before trying and failing to buy himself out his contract.

Sakho travelled to France and set up a medical at Rennes of his own accord - which he subsequently passed - but there has never been a fee agreed.

Rennes had a bid of £4m up front plus £5m in add-ons flat out rejected by West Ham but Sakho carried on with the medical anyway.
