Philippe Coutinho is furious with Barcelona bosses after they failed to capture him this summer.

Coutinho has revealed to friends Barca promised he would be their player by the end of the window, as they desperately attempted to agree a deal with Liverpool.

The midfielder is most hurt by the fact he held up his end of the deal, according to Don Balon.

The Brazilian is yet to appear for the Anfield team this season, having complained of a back injury, after handing in a transfer request.

Coutinho may now make it difficult for Barca, who haven't dropped a point in La Liga this season, to sign him in January as he feels hurt by broken promises.

Liverpool winger Mane saw red after clashing with the Brazilian shot stopper while chasing a through ball during the sides' clash at the Etihad on Saturday.

City went on to win the fixture 5-0 - with Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane bagging braces after Sergio Aguero had put Pep Guardiola's side ahead.

Ederson was taken off on a stretcher in the 37th minute before having scans on his jaw and cheekbone following the sickening collision.

And Mane took to Instagram to write: "I hope and wish Ederson a quick recovery.

"I am so sorry he was hurt during our accidental collision on the pitch and am sorry for him that he could not complete the match because of it.

"I pray he heals fast and is back playing very soon because he is highest quality player."
