Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to battle Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez's future is the source of much speculation this summer after failing to sign a new deal at Arsenal.

He has reiterated his desire to play in the Champions League next season - although Arsenal are confident of keeping him.

City appeared to be in pole position, should he leave Arsenal, after Bayern Munich officially pulled out of the race on Monday.

But reports in France suggest PSG have spoken to Sanchez's agent to confirm their interest.

According to Le Parisien, PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has made contact over a move in the last week.

It is suggested that the French giants have not been put off by Sanchez's wage demands and will try to push through a deal.

PSG have also been linked with Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe but have so far been frustrated in their pursuit.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed the German champions are no longer in for Sanchez after signing James Rodriguez.

"I don't know what [Sanchez] has said but we are no longer involved," said Rummenigge.

"We are in agreement with the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and we won't be doing another deal for an attacker. That makes no sense."
