Paris Saint-Germain are still keen on signing Alexis Sanchez despite Arsene Wenger's claims the forward will see out his contract in north London.

This is according to reports from Sanchez's native Chile, where he has spent most of the summer.

The 28-year-old returned to north London earlier this month but played no part in Arsenal's Community Shield win over Chelsea.

PSG signed Neymar from Barcelona last week in a world record €222million deal, but El Mercurio claims they still have money to spend on Sanchez.

Dani Alves and Neymar — both former team-mates of Sanchez's at the Nou Camp — have reportedly contacted Sanchez about joining them at the Parc des Princes.

Sanchez's desire to move clubs is partly born out of desperation to win the Champions League.

Neymar's arrival in Paris has made the Ligue 1 side fourth favourites for the competition but signing Sanchez would greatly increase their chances yet again.

The report claims PSG would offer Arsenal £50million and the player would be in line for around £236,000-a-week, which is less than the current offer at Arsenal.

Wenger, however, has repeatedly stated Sanchez will not be sold this summer.

"He is focused and my decision is clear. He will stay and he will respect that. It is as simple as that," said Wenger after the win on Sunday.

While a move to a Premier League rival looks impossible, Arsenal could yet be tempted to sell to a foreign club rather than lose Sanchez for nothing next June.
