Ravel Morrison 's shock move to Mexico is complete.

The fallen Manchester United starlet has been welcomed by Atlas FC in Guadalajara, Mexico's third biggest city, after a deal was done with Lazio.

"Coming from [Lazio] we make official the arrival of Ravel Morrison to the Rojinegros #WelcomeRavel," tweeted the club.

Morrison goes to the Liga MX on loan from his Serie A parent club, where he's struggled to impress.

The 24-year-old started the summer on trial with Birmingham City but the Championship club were unable to meet the Lazio's asking price.

Atlas are based on the outskirts of Guadalajara, about 350 miles north west of the capital Mexico City.

This is the seventh club of Morrison's short but eventful career.

He played in the same United youth team as Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, but was allowed to leave for West Ham in 2012.

He has made just 76 competitive league appearances in the five years since leaving Old Trafford, which include loan spells at Birmingham, Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff.

Morrison trained with Birmingham for a month earlier this summer and boss Harry Redknapp confirmed his desire to take him for the season.

Birmingham offered to contribute £3,000-a-week to Morrison's wages, but the deal was turned down.

“He's such a talent,” Redknapp told talkSPORT in July. “His ability is up there with the best there is around.

“I said to him yesterday: 'Ravel, listen, there is only one mug in this country that will take a chance on you now and that is me'.

“I have taken him for a month on trial and said to him 'come and show what you can do, earn yourself a contract, don't waste all that fantastic ability, and prove to people that you can produce and behave'.

“He is not a bad lad. He is not a nasty boy in any shape or form. He has been easily led by the wrong people, but he trained yesterday and some of the stuff he does is fantastic. I love watching him play.”
